I AM NATURE - ARTIST EVA KURSETH IMER
My approach to nature in this catalogue is to discover or create a narrative that is not basically there. I call them Seascapes, as I am the one shaping the narrative. It can be an inner narrative or a narrative that comes from the lines of stone, colors or swirling water. The story can be a mood, something human in the stones or to focus attention on something internal. An inner light or shape. The closeness to nature teaches me more about myself, it opens my senses and emotions and gives me infinite joy. It makes sense for me to share this joy of nature. I am deeply grateful to live in an area of Norway where the coast has so much to offer, from beaches and rock formations to reeds, forests and wildlife. In addition, I have the pleasure of spending time in the mountains and in 'old forest', altogether this gives me a rich visual material as starting points for my artistic work. The pictures in this catalogue are mainly taken in the protected nature area called Færder National Park (Norway) in the Moutmarka area, but may also be taken at Fagerfjell further inland.
